Bloody fighting erupts in beer bar, eight injured, property damaged, cash looted

Nagpur: A bloody fighting erupted in a beer bar that witnessed five persons injured, looting and damaging of property. The violent incident also resulted in the sparring parties lodging complaint-counter complaint against each other for the rampage. The bear bar manager, his brother and six others have been booked in this connection. No arrests have been made so far.

According to police, the first complainant Brijeshsingh Lallansingh Thakur (25), resident of Omnagar, Koradi Road, works as manager at Rohit Beer Bar situated at Rani Durgavati Square. On Friday around 4 pm, four accused Nilesh alias Ajay Ankush Kulmethe (25), Akash Ganesh Pendam (23), Akash Namdeo Kavale (18) and Kamal Suresh Salame (25), all residents of Gond Mohalla, Rani Durgavati Square, arrived at the beer bar for cheers. After having a glass or two the four accused were served the bill of Rs 710. But the accused questioned the amount of the bill and started quarrelling with bar manager Brijeshsingh Lallansingh Thakur. Even before the manager could pacify the four accused they went on rampage. The accused first damaged property worth Rs 2000, then whipped out sword and stick and started beating the bar manager Brijeshsingh, his brother Rahul Thakur and waiter Sachin Yadav. The four accused, before fleeing the spot, snatched Rs 5000 from the bar counter.

On the basis of a complaint lodged by Brijeshsingh Lallansingh Thakur, Yashodhara Nagar APSI Dube registered an offence against the four accused under Sections 394, 327, 504, 34 of IPC read with Section 4+25 of Arms Act and Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act and was investigating the matter further.

However, the incident received a twist when two of the four accused lodged a counter complaint with police against the beer bar manager, his brother, waiter and guard of the bar. Akash Namdeo Kavale and Nilesh alias Ajay Ankush Kulmethe, in their complaint told police that they had gone to Rohit Beer Bar situated at Rani Durgavati Square on Friday for having the liquor. But the beer bar served an inflated bill. An argument over the bill ensued between them and the bar manager Brijeshsingh Lallansingh Thakur. Suddenly, the bar manager Brijeshsingh, his brother Rahul Thakur, guard Sampatmuni Badrinath Chaturvedi (48) and waiter Sachin Yadav attacked Akash and Nilesh with hockey stick. In the scuffle, both Akash and Nilesh received deep injuries on hand and head, said the complaint.

Yashodhara Nagar Senior PSI Mandvale, acting on the complaint, booked the accused Brijeshsingh, his brother Rahul Thakur, guard Sampatmuni Badrinath Chaturvedi and waiter Sachin Yadav under Sections 326, 323, 504, 34 of IPC and probing the matter further.
