BJP-Sena loses face among people and farmers: Ajit Pawar

Nagpur: “During elections to Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis in Gondia and Bhandara districts, the BJP and Shiv Sena have received a terrible jolt recently while the Congress and NCP are rejuvenated by their victory. Now, the BJP has lost its face among the people and farmers of the state,” remarked NCP senior leader Ajit Pawar, adding that this is how the people in general, who had extended their wave-laden support, have now outright rejected the BJP in local body elections.

Ajit Pawar
He was here in the city on Wednesday to hold his meetings with party workers and leaders from different districts.
According to him, it is useless to expect of ‘good days’ (achhe din) from the current state government, for the party (BJP) is divided by its internal rifts and there is no coordination formula seen, nor are any developmental works being done.
Ajit Pawar further said, the problem of re-sowing is looming on farmers due to scanty rainfall, yet the state government has not come out with any help to them. He accused the government of setting its own loyalists on government agencies, renaming the old schemes and roads, rather than sorting out the problems of farmers.
Citing the examples of works done by his government, he comparatively criticized the BJP government for fall of rates of milk-produce of farmers, refusal for grant of loans to farmers by nationalized and cooperative banks, and no satisfying redressal to farmers’ issues.
He informed that the Congress and the NCP would be jointly launching a protest against functioning of BJP government, for which a serious contemplation is going on.
On this occasion, the appointment of various office-bearers in the organization and district level units was discussed in order to strengthen the party organization, whose names would be announced soon.
Present on the occasion among others were Dilip Walse Patil, Manohar Naik, Anil Deshmukkh and Ramesh Bang.
