Nagpur: Counting of votes for the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) elections commenced on Friday, with early trends indicating a decisive lead for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). As per initial figures flashed by television news channels, the BJP is ahead in 101 of the 151 civic seats. The early trends are available from 128 seats.
The Congress is leading in 29 seats, while the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) has secured an early lead in 3 seats. Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (AP), NCP (SP) are leading in one seat each. Independents have taken the lead in 7 seats.
