The farmers of the region have been left debt-ridden as the relief package announced by the Congress Government has been enormously inadequate and an insult to the farmers devastated by the excessive rains, Devendra Fadnavis said.

Nagpur News: The ecstatic BJP leaders, bolstered by the grand victories in 4 Assembly elections, staged a “Rasta Roko” (Jamming of roads) at Cotton Market Square and demanded justice to rain-ravaged farmers of Vidarbha and resolving of other burning issues faced by the region.
The Bharatiya Janata Party leaders who participated in the agitation include State Unit President of BJP Devendra Fadnavis, City President Krishna Khopde, MLA Sudhakar Deshmukh, Mayor Anil Sole, former Mayor Archana Dehankar, Corporator Dayashankar Tiwari, Ruling Party Leader in NMC Pravin Datke, Women’s Cell President Kirtija Ajmera and others.
The South West Nagpur MLA Devendra Fadnavis, who arrived late at the venue, raised slogans against the Congress-NCP Government which said “Stop torture and exploitation of Vidarbha farmers”. The farmers of the region have been left debt-ridden as the relief package announced by the Congress Government has been enormously inadequate and an insult to the farmers devastated by the excessive rains. The uncontrolled price rise is adding difficulties to the already suffering farmers and making their lives pathetic by the stepmotherly treatment being meted out to the farmers of Vidarbha, Fadnavis asserted.

After his speech, all leaders of BJP hit the Cotton Market Square and started the road blockade. On their call, all the workers made a big ring and stopped all the roads. Hes spoke to the press and said that the government is giving very less rates for Cotton, Soybean etc. The BJP is staging “Rasta Roko” for the rights of the farmers.
Earlier, Krishna Khopdde said that a blind, deaf, lame and handicapped Government has come to the city. They are not going to give even a single penny for the development of Vidarbha and the Second Capital. He urged the BJP activists to work hard for victory of Nitin Gadkari in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and facilitate BJP rule at Centre, too.
