Mumbai: Bigg Boss 10 contestant Akansha Sharma, who was evicted from the show late Sunday, has claimed that cricketer Yuvraj Singh “used” to smoke marijuana. In an interview after coming out of the house, Akansha, who was briefly married to Yuvraj’s younger brother Zorawar, said that he told her that “he used to smoke pot”.

When asked to respond to allegations of substance abuse levelled against her by Yuvraj’s mom Shabnam, Akansha told Bollywoodlife, “As far as substance abuse goes, it was there in their family too. Whatever I did was with them. I smoked pot with my husband. Yuvi also told me he smoked pot. It is a very common thing in the industry. My mother-in-law now needs to say something to justify herself.”

Speaking about her troubled marriage, she told the entertainment website, “Firstly, it wasn’t a marriage in the right sense. I was married only in paper. There was nothing in that relationship. I haven’t lied and I am pretty sure of whatever I have said. Nothing happened in my marriage. I am not backing off from what I said. Saying that matter is sub-judice is the safest thing to do.”

Media could not independently verify the report.

Akansha had indirectly accused her mother-in-law, Shabnam Singh of ill-treating her and blamed her for her failed marriage. Reacting to the allegations made by Akansha, Yuvraj’s mom Shabnam Singh has told media, “First of all, this matter is sub judice and she (Akansha) is not allowed to speak. It goes under the contempt of court. There’s a special petition I had filed. Anyone can understand the agenda here and everybody knows it. We are not allowed to speak on this matter.”

Bigg Boss is scripted on the lines of the British television show Big Brother. The show’s format keeps participants locked inside a house for three months with no access to the outside world.
