Case registered against the couple

Nagpur: Nagpur city has no dearth of people who dupe innocent citizens of their hard earned money. Many conmen have come up with many ponzi schemes and have succeeded in duping scores of citizens.

In a fresh case of duping that has come to fore, a couple has duped many in Kotwali area. The couple has been identified as Narendra Tulsiram Tiwari and his wife Padma Tiwari.

According to police sources, a couple Narendra Tulsiram Tiwari and Padma Tiwari who used to live near Chitnispura Police Chowki used to run a fund deposit scheme. This couple had collected money in the name of Bhagyalaxmi Fund Scheme from neighbours, relatives and friends. The amount collected was to the tune of Rs 4.55 lakhs.

However, the couple had some ulterior motive and one fine night, they sold their house secretly and fled from the house with the amount collected under Bhagyalaxmi Fund Scheme.

In the ensuing period between November 2013 to November 2014, the Tiwari couple had disappeared with the entire amount collected from the people.

On the basis of a complaint lodged by a victim identified as Jaya Kothe aged 31 years and a resident of Shivaji Nagar, Police Sub Inspector Shrirao of Kotwali Police registered a case under section 406 and 420 of Indian Penal Code for duping against the Tiwari couple.

The complainant victim Jaya Kothe is said to be extremely poor. With hopes of making some extra money, the poor victim had invested in the Bhagyalaxmi Scheme offered by the Tiwari couple. Like Jaya Kothe, the Tiwari couple had duped many others too. However, Jaya Kothe has come forward to lodge a complaint.
