Nagpur: In a program marked by strong messages on national strength, innovation, and perseverance, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said that the achievements of industrialist Satyanarayan Nuwal have not only brought pride to Nagpur but have also reinforced the belief that extraordinary success is possible through determination and hard work.
He was speaking at a felicitation ceremony organised by the Nag Bhushan Award Foundation at Radisson Blu Hotel Nagpur, where Padma Shri awardee Satyanarayan Nuwal, Chairman of Solar Industries India Ltd, and Daksh Khante, recognised as the world’s youngest Ironman, were honoured.
Nuwal was conferred with the Nag Bhushan Award 2025, while Khante received the Yuva Nag Bhushan Award 2025. The awards were presented by Bhagwat in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Minister of State Adv Ashish Jaiswal, Foundation President Ajay Sancheti, and Secretary Adv Nishant Gandhi.
Addressing the gathering, Bhagwat emphasised that global peace could not be sustained without strong nations capable of defending themselves. He asserted that power, when guided by virtue, becomes a force for protection rather than oppression.
“Our culture speaks of universal prosperity, but when destructive forces rise, they must be confronted. Only the powerful can safeguard righteousness, and that is where individuals like Nuwal contribute significantly,” Bhagwat said.
He cautioned that power without character leads to misuse, noting that while some exploit knowledge, wealth, and strength for conflict and dominance, the virtuous use them for enlightenment, protection, and social good. He also remarked that the future global order would depend more on defence capabilities than economic strength alone.
Pride of Nagpur, inspiration for youth
Bhagwat highlighted that both Nuwal and Khante embody humility alongside achievement. “Their success belongs to them, but it fills all of Nagpur with pride. It gives confidence that such accomplishments are possible here, in our city and our country,” he said, adding that perseverance accounts for the majority of success and inspires future generations.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised Solar Industries for pushing the boundaries of defence manufacturing. He stated that the company is developing technologies and weapon systems that are not currently available anywhere in the world.
“Many of the innovations being developed will be global firsts, and they are being created right here in Nagpur,” Fadnavis said, also noting the company’s contribution to strategic operations like Operation Sindoor.
He recalled Nuwal’s early struggles, pointing out that strong import lobbies once hindered private sector entry into defence manufacturing. Fadnavis added that the Nag Bhushan Award had been finalised even before Nuwal was honoured with the Padma Shri, underlining the foundation’s foresight.
Defence capability key to future: Gadkari
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari echoed similar sentiments, stating that modern warfare technologies such as drones and missiles are redefining global power structures. He said companies like Solar Industries are playing a crucial role in positioning India among leading defence nations.
“India has never been expansionist, but strength is essential, both for self-defence and for protecting others,” Gadkari said.
Responding to the honour, Satyanarayan Nuwal said receiving the award at the hands of Bhagwat was a moment of immense pride. He described his work in defence manufacturing as a form of national service.
“Contributing to the country’s protection is like worship for me. This recognition will motivate me to work with even greater energy,” Nuwal said.
Daksh Khante termed the Yuva Nag Bhushan Award as the “Padma Shri of Nagpur” for him and credited his parents for his achievement.
The programme began with introductory remarks by Ajay Sancheti and a welcome address by Vilas Kale. Shraddha Bharadwaj compered the event, while Adv Nishant Gandhi delivered the vote of thanks.
