: AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh, who arrived in city on Friday, stoked a controversy by saying, “No where in Quran there is written not to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai.’ The RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi are working hand in glow for a common goal. Both have extreme thinking of ‘divide and rule.’ Congress fought the Independence struggle on the very ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ slogan. Time has come to teach the RSS and BJP the true meaning of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ as defined by Pt Jawaharlal Nehru in the book Discovery of India,” said Digvijay Singh in a dig.

The Congress leader, in city to participate in the party’s review meeting, launched a scathing attack on RSS and BJP. “Despite there being no pro-Pakistan slogans shouted at JNU the student leader Kanhaya Kumar was put behind bars just because he has communist thinking.

At the same time, how the BJP is backing and forming government with PDP which had rallied behind Afzal Guru who had carried out attack on Parliament? This should be cleared by the RSS. The BJP, who opposed the Constitution and reservation, is now trying to woo Dr Ambedkar. On one hand, Bhagwat advocates review of reservation and on the other, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi assures the reservation at any cost. Hence who is speaking the truth should be clarified by these leaders,” posed Digvijay Singh.
