Betel nuts worth Rs 6.72 lakh stolen from godown in Lakadganj

Nagpur: Few unidentified burglars had sneaked into a godown at Kumbhartoli Square under Lakadganj police station and swept away 60 sacks of betel nuts worth Rs 6.72 lakh between Oct 20 and Nov 13, this year.

Vijay Ghanshamdas Aamesar, 47, resident of 650, Chapru Nagar, Sindhi Colony told police that, after storing 4800 kgs of betelnuts in 60 sacks, he had locked the godown located near Himalaya Building, Kumbhartoli Square between Oct 20 and Nov 13, 2018.

In the meantime some anonymous miscreants had broke the shutter locks and gained entry in the godown and fled with the sacks of betel nuts.

Though, the reason behind the late report is still unknown. Following the compliant of 47-year-old godown owner, Lakadganj police have registered a case under section 461, 380 of IPC and started the probe.
