Nagpur: A man was allegedly attacked with a glass beer bottle after he refused to give money for alcohol in the Jaripatka area of Nagpur. The accused allegedly struck the victim on his face and neck, leaving him seriously injured. The victim has been admitted to Mayo Hospital for treatment, while police have arrested the accused.
The incident reportedly took place at around 8 pm on Thursday on the road leading from Khobragade Chowk towards Nara Gaon, just a short distance from Jaripatka Police Station.

According to the complaint, Jiten Verma was walking along the road when Ganpat Mahadev Meshram, a resident of Hudco Colony, Nara Gaon, allegedly approached him and demanded money to buy alcohol.
When Verma refused to give him money, Meshram allegedly picked up a glass beer bottle lying on the road and attacked him on the face and neck.
Verma sustained serious injuries in the sudden attack and was immediately shifted to Mayo Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Following the complaint, Jaripatka Police arrested Ganpat Mahadev Meshram. Police said the accused has a previous criminal record, with several cases reportedly registered against him involving assault, threats and road accidents.
Jaripatka Police have registered a case and launched a further investigation into the incident.
