BARTI stalls bill payment to service providers during 66th Dhammachakra Pravartan Day in Nagpur

Nagpur: The Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi Vice-President of Nagpur unit Milind Meshram has alleged that Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI) Pune Office has failed to release bill payment amounting lakhs of rupees to various service providers during 66th Dhammachakra Pravartan Day celebration in Nagpur in 2022.

According to Meshram, the Head of Department at BARTI had given contracts to private individuals for publication and publicity of various programs during 66th Dhammachakra Pravartan Day celebration in Nagpur in 2022. But the BARTI is reluctant to pay the bill of lakhs of rupees due to mutual differences between the officials in the concerned office.

BARTI Department Head Dr. Satyendra Nath Chavan (Pune) had given contract to Dark Maya Digital Photo Studio Nagpur with the lowest rates for publication and publicity of Dhammachakra Pravartan Day program for two days on October 4 and 5, 2022 with to terms and conditions. As per the mandate, after providing the following amenities, facilities, the BARTI is refusing to pay the bill of Rs. 82250.

Following services were provided:

Photography Rs. 7000 per day for 2 days, Video shooting Rs. 11000 per day X 2 days, Video Live Mixer Rs. 8000 per day for 2 days, LED Wall Rs. 9000 per day for 2 days, TV (55 inch) Rs. 2500 per day for 2 days, Sandix Pendrive Rs. 750 per day for 3 days. The total amount for these services comes to Rs. 82250.

The Head of the Department had also commissioned private suppliers to provide facilities for publication and publicity on October 4 and 5, 2022.

Nishant Tembhurne Catering: Breakfast, two meals and tea in the morning for Rs. 1,19,500. Suresh Decoration and Flower Decoration by Anand Patil — Rs. 43,000. Photo stationery and other material by Safi Traders for Rs 11,980. Rahul Valke provided a gate stall banner for Rs 1,32,663. Kulkarni of Sign Post Company provided other facilities for Rs 2,50,726. The total for all these services comes to Rs 5,72,419.

Meshram claimed that even after contacting the head of the department and the concerned authorities for the total outstanding amount of Rs.6,54,669/-, the aforesaid authorities are refusing to pay this outstanding amount even after one year has passed. Meshram has warned that if the payment is not done within the next fifteen days, there will be a strong protest on behalf of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi in front of the concerned office.
