Balya Borkar takes charge as Chairman of NMC’s Transport Committee

balya-borkarNagpur: Narendra (Balya) Borkar, the newly elected Chairman of NMC’s Transport Committee, on Saturday assumed the post in a simple function held Civil Lines office of the local body. Borkar took charge from outgoing Chairman Sudhir (Bandu) Raut who has been elected chief of Standing Committee recently.

Other dignitaries present at the function include Mayor Pravin Datke, MLA and City BJP President Sudhakar Kohale, MLAs Krishna Khopde, Dr Milind Mane, MLC Girish Vyas, Ruling Party Leader Dayashankar Tiwari, Transport Committee members Mahendra Raut, Murlidhar Meshram, Divya Ghurde, Sumitra Jadhav, Minatai Tidke, Vandana Ingole, State Commission of for Women member Neeta Thakre, Fire Brigade Committee Chairman Munna Yadav, Tax Assessment and Collection Committee Chairman Girish Deshmukh, former Mayor Maya Ivnate, former Deputy Mayor Sandeep Jadhav, former Standing Committee Chairman Ramesh Singare, Transport Department Manager Shivaji Jagtap, chairpersons of zonal committee, Corporators, BJP office-bearers, and large number party workers.

At the outset, the Transport Manager Shivaji Jagtap welcomed Narendra Borkar on behalf of NMC Administration by offering him a tulsi sapling and a bouquet.

Speaking on the occasion the newly elected Chairman thanked the party leadership for showing trust on him and bestowing the coveted post. “I will carry out my responsibilities in a befitting manner. My efforts will be to ensure the transport service is reached the doors of poorest of poor sections of society. More and more facilities will be provided to the commuters,” assured Borkar.
