Bag containing Rs 7 lakh burgled near Chitnis Park

Nagpur: Unidentified miscreant(s) decamped with a bag containing Rs 7 lakh cash in Ganeshpeth police jurisdiction on Friday.

The complainant, Laxmikant Sitaram Jangir (37), resident of Plot No. 306, Mehadiya Bhavan, Wardha Road told police that his wife gave the bag containing Rs 7 lakh to his servant Ravi Ashok Kallamwar (34), resident of Nirmal Colony, Jaripatka and Sheikh Sarfaraz alias Raja Gulamnabi Khan (25), resident of Plot No. 573, Mahendra Nagar. Both Ravi and Sheikh Sarfaraz were asked by Laxmikant’s wife to hand over the cash to him in Mahal.

Accordingly, Ravi and Sheikh Sarfaraz dangled the bag to their Activa moped and proceeded towards Mahal. Midway, both stopped in front of Raja Namkeen Centre, near Chitnis Park and went for snacks. Carelessly, they left the bag hooked to the Activa. In the meantime, some unidentified miscreant(s) decamped with the cash containing bag.

Ganeshpeth PSI R Z Nannaware has registered a case under Section 379 of the IPC and mounted a hunt to nab the burglars.
