Avni Jewellery Shop robbery: Jaripatka cops nab kingpin Pande, recover booty worth Rs 6.38 lakh

Nagpur: Jaripatka Police arrested Govind alias Kanha Harishchandra Pande, the mastermind behind Jaripatka based Avni Jewellery Shop robbery from Uttar Pradesh and also recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments collectively worth Rs 6.38 from his possession.

Cops subsequently brought the accused Pande to the Second Capital of the State and produced him before magistrate court. The court has granted his PCR till August 6 to cops. Till date, a sum of 164 gms of gold and 1.3 kgs of silver and other materials have been recovered by the police.

A squad of Jaripatka Police comprising PSI Devkate, ASI Wahab Desai, Constables, Ganesh Gupta, Anis Khan and Pawan Yadav made the arrest from Pratapgarh in UP. The action was supervised under supervision of DCP Zone 5 Neelotpal and Senior Police Inspector, Jaripatka, Nitin Phatangare.

It is pertinent to mention that, on July 5 some armed robbers had robbed ornaments worth Rs 20 lakh from Avni Jewellers in broad daylight. Acting swiftly, all the senior officers of Nagpur Police swung into action and succeeded in nabbing Virednra Yadav and Deepak Tripathi within 24-hours of crime with the help of Jabalpur and Katni Police. However, kingpin Pande had managed to evade arrest owing to the dark.
