Auto driver suddenly takes ill, dies

Nagpur: Passengers travelling in an auto had a narrow escape as the driver suddenly developed health complications and later died in GMCH on Thursday. Cops, after registering a case of accidental death, launched investigation.

A resident of New Vaishali Nagar, Chinchbhavan Slums, Wardha Road, the deceased has been identified as Ashok Ramji Petkar (45). Ashok was driving auto. On Wednesday around 4 pm, Ashok was bringing passengers to city from Hingna. Midway near Manish Nagar T-Point, Ashok suddenly took ill still driving the auto. But the auto was stopped anyhow and Ashok was rushed to nearby Joshi Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 11.50 pm during the course of treatment.

Beltarodi API Hanwate has registered a case of accidental death and launched an in-depth probe to ascertain exact cause of Ashok Petkar’s death.
