hotel-heavens-nagpurNagpur: After the news appeared on the website titled ‘Irregularities galore at Hotel Heavens: Authorities turn blind eye’, the hotel authorities swung into action and had directed all the hotel staff to collect all the plastic bottles and all such evidence that goes on to prove that liquor is sold in the hotel without adequate permissions from State Excise departments and from other government bodies and destroy them.

A video grab of the staff of the Hotel Heavens clearly displays how the staff is collecting all the bottles of foreign liquor (plastic bottles) and all other evidence and burning them.

In an exclusive interview with Nagpur Today, District Collector Sachin Kurve said that he will look into the matter. He has also assured that severe penal action will be taken against the owners of the Hotel Heavens.

While speaking to Nagpur Today, Deputy Superintendent of State Excise Department Pramod Sonone clarified that the name of the Hotel Heavens is not in their list of hotels approved by them. He also clarified that Hotel Heavens does not have the license to serve Indian Made Foreign Liquor nor Foreign liquor to the customers.

It could be recalled that Nagpur Today carried the news of Hotel Heavens and the irregularities that galore in its premises. The Hotel is located near WOX Cooler Factory on Koradi Road, Prabhag No 1 of NMC and falling within the jurisdiction of Koradi Police Station. The authorities of Hotel Heavens do not have any parking facility of area for parking for their customers. They do not have license to sell and serve liquor (From Excise Department) right from the time the hotel started operations.

High-end liquor served without liquor license: Those hotels which adhere to the rules and regulations of the Excise department have to get a liquor storing and service license. This has to be renewed yearly. This also requires them to pay excise duty, service tax for the liquor sold/served. These hotels have to abide by the time-frame i.e. the duration in which they can serve the liquor. However Hotel Heavens has ignored all these rules and regulations and is boldly serving liquor in its premises.
