Exploring Valentine on marital path
Sheena Jain, who shares her life with Ankush Jain said, “Though it was an arranged marriage, I am in love. My husband is my valentine! Although our parents fixed it up all, gradually in our journey of life together, we fall for each other. Even after 6 months of our marriage now, I still get to know different sides of him. There have been many instances that turned into lovable memories, but the most prominent one was the time when I was pleasantly surprised on my birthday, with gifts and dear ones around me, that was all arranged by Ankush. It was really unexpected since giving surprises was so not his nature.”
…Baaton Baaton mein pyar ho gaya
Mandar Chitaley, who shares his life with Pradnya Chitaley quoted, “Ours is a filmy love story I must say! I, for the first time saw her at my friend’s elder brother’s wedding, and liked her at the very first glance. I was lucky enough to have met her when her aunt forgot her purse at the wedding venue, and I dropped it at their place. This was our first meeting, when I gave her a glance, and she as well smiled. Later on, unexpectedly I received a call, it was from Pradnya! My number was passed on to her by one of our relatives, which was the instance when I realized that aag dono taraf se lagi hai boss! One of our common friends Meghna Pandey, then helped in carrying this relation forward. I asked Pradnya for lunch thereafter, and baato baato aur aankho aankho me pyaar ho gaya! In our fourth meeting, I kept a marriage proposal in front of her.”
A musical love story
Jasmeet Sokhi says that her husband Sharry Sokhi is her first love! It was a college party when we first met, I was playing the synthesizer and he was the DJ. What else then! The journey of our friendship started, which turned into love after two years of togetherness and understanding. We had lots in common, our love for music topping the list, which prompted us to tie the knot! About the Valentine’s Day, I would say that I am looking forward to it, but a bit different from the regular this time! I have been gifting him since always, and this time I expect one good one from him (laughing)!
From Date to Life Mate
Kanika Acharya who shares her life with Prakash Acharya said, “It has been eight years of dating and here we are, engaged! We were best of friends and through the course of life that we are made for each other. Once, when I met with an accident, his name was the first that came to my mind, that was my ‘day of love’, when I realized that he is the one! Not much is there to say, since we are not a romantic couple, I would mention that we don’t need any special day to express our love.”
Letters waala love…
Balaji and Geetanjali Buty, a happily married couple quoted, “We’re two totally opposite personalities. But still we are together, and how! Being there for each other no matter what!” Geetanjali added, “Ours was an arranged marriage. Things like writing letters, posting them regularly were done by me. Our marriage was destined to happen. I still remember the incidence, when at the reception, he went away for a while and made his twin brother stand in his place. This is how he was, casual yet sensitive! This is what made me fall for him!”
Will be there for you…forever
Joy Kalra who shares his life with Komal Bedi Kalra said, “Being a newly married couple, we are enjoying the best phase of our life right now! This is the season of love, we are really looking forward to our first Valentine’s Day! It was at a cousin’s wedding in Raipur when we first met, and the spark got ignited. Then what else! Our parents took care of the rest! For my Valentine, I would just say that I’ll be there for you forever.”
Love stood the test of times…
Jyoti and her husband Anurag Porwal has an inspirational love story, the base of which is based on long term love, trust, and resistance. Jyoti quoted, “It was a school time friendship. We shared an equation since then. My husband was more inclined, but I was unaware. Gradually, the spark ignited, and our friendship gradually grew into an affair. We’ve successfully crossed the barriers of life, and never left each other alone. After four years of resistance from our parents as well, we were able to tie a knot, now which shall be completing 14 years.”
Destiny brought them together again
Aarti and Praveen Eliezer however share more of a strong friendship bond, with khatta-meetha flavours of love in it! Aarti narrated her part of story saying, “The tradition of arranged marriages in my family was really new! They never know how to ‘arrange’ a marriage! My elders have tied knots in love marriages. However, mine was arranged. It was the time when I wasn’t ready to get involved, I dressed in the most casual way when I first met Praveen and his family. But then I talked to Praveen, he sure was a gentleman! Though he was really talkative, within two days of chatting, I knew I am in love with this person, and now, truly, madly and deeply.” On the other hand, talkative Praveen had a whole new side to his story, and it was lengthier than railway tracks! He quoted, “when my parents started looking a match for me, I was in China, my age suited marriage, and it was high time to settle down. There was a lot of pressure. I had therefore given myself to life. I had no specific choices to make. But when I saw Aarti, I remembered the time, when once I liked a girl six years back, and she was right in front of me!
