Nagpur: A female Assistant Professor of Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural College has levelled allegations of harassment against the Senior Professor of the College and lodged a complaint with the State Woman Commissioner.

Following which, the chairperson of the commission Rupali Chakankar informed the Vice Chancellor of Panjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural College (Akola) Dr Vilas Bhale and directed him to probe the matter and take the necessary course of action. The commission has also sought the investigation report of the matter.

According to the victim’s complaint, the Senior Officer of her department had been harassing her for the last two years. Notably, casteist remarks were also made by the senior official. She was humiliated in front of the students and wrong information about her was also spread.

The victim had given the information of the issue to the Vice-Chancellor and registrar. When no action was taken, she made a writing complaint. After that in July 2021, the Senior Officer against whom the allegations were raised, was transferred to Wardha Krishi Kendra. However, three months later, the same officer was reinstated.
