Assembly Session: Show cause notice to 300 industrial cooperative units for not utilising funds

Nagpur News: About 300 industrial cooperative organisations from across the state have defaulted on the funds raised from the government machinery by not utilising it for starting their units. This serious issue was raised by MLAs Harshwardhan Jadhav, Praveen Darekar, Vasantrao Bhite, Mangesh Sangle, Shashikant Shinde and advocate Uttamrao Dhikle.

In a written reply to the query in this regard, State Minister for Social Justice Shivaji Rao Moghe Patil informed that in order to promote middle class society in industrial sector, about 321 cooperative organisations out of 372 have been provided financial assistance in full. 87 organisations have been approved the  intalments. Those who failed to send proposals for second part of instalments have been served show cause notices, he informed.

He said that till date only 70 such organisations have started operations after receiving their first loan instalments.

It may be mentioned here that the state government had announced loans for medium sized industrial cooperative units. Till first phase, about Rs 300 crore have already been disbursed under the scheme.
