Ashok Gehlot sworn in as Rajasthan CM, Sachin Pilot, deputy CM. Finally, it’s done.
Chief Minister designates Kamal Nath and Bhupesh Baghel will take oaths in their respective states later today.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who is now in Jaipur for the Gehlot and Pilot’s swearing-in ceremonies, will be attending the swearing-in ceremonies of the other two CMs as well.
Senior Congress leaders like Dr Manmohan Singh are also at the the swearing-in ceremony.
In what is being viewed as a photo-opportunity ahead of the 2019 general elections, a brigade of opposition leaders including NCP leader Sharad Pawar, Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu, DMK chief MK Stalin, RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, are likely to attend the oath-taking ceremonies. BSP chief Mayawati, who had earlier said that she would be attending the event, later backed out, as did West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.
