Nagpur.

Armed dacoits targeted the godown of a housing development scheme, third time within a month, in Jamtha area and looted cables and bathroom fittings collectively worth Rs 12,00,000. The dacoity occurred in Sandesh City Housing Development Scheme in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. Nagpur Rural Police are groping in the dark over identity and whereabouts of the armed dacoits who are striking the housing scheme with impunity.

According to reports, construction of Sandesh City Housing Scheme is undergoing in Jamtha area. Valuable material has been stored in the godown of the housing scheme. In the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, a gang of dacoits, laced with lethal arms, entered the godown by breaking open the locks and decamped with cables and bathroom fittings worth Rs 12,00,000. The security guards deployed at the godown were caught unawares. However, a woman labourer spotted the gang of dacoits but kept quiet after considering the number of dacoits and their lethal arms. The armed goons reportedly took the stolen material in a Matador. On the basis of complaint lodged by Supervisor Sunil Verma, Hingna police have booked the accused dacoits under relevant Sections of IPC and Arms Act and launched a hunt to nab them.

Taking the recurring dacoities seriously, the Superintendent of Police (Nagpur Rural) Dr Arti Singh has ordered Hingna Police and Crime Branch to bring the accused dacoits to the book immediately. This is the third dacoity at the godown within a month.
