Claims second position in opening race of VW Polo R Cup India – 2014

The racer for our own city Anshul Manoj Shah claimed second position in the opening race of 2014 Season of the Volkswagen Polo R Cup India – 2014.
Anshul managed to grab the second position once again in the Round 2 of Race 1 in-spite of the tricky weather conditions that prevailed during the race held on 13th July 2014 at Kari Motor Speedway – Coimbatore.
Round 2 (Race 1)

Anshul Manoj Shah elevated the pride and honour of Nagpur. Anshul returned with an equal zeal and aggression which he is carried with him, right from round 1 of the VW Polo R Cup India – 2014. This race was expected to be as good as or better than round one.
While speaking to Nagpur Today, he said that he focused on his fitness a lot which helped him to achieve success in round 2. To begin with, it was a great start, though he started from the fifth position on the grid. Although it was a tough competition to position himself right from the fifth position to 2nd position from corner one (C1). However, our city lad achieved a big success and made it to the second position till the tenth lap.
When the race began one of the competitors met with a mishap. Before the restart on the safety car lap 2 drivers made an early move on Anshul Manoj Shah. This got them penalized for 30 seconds as they have overtaken under safety car lap which in-turn led Anshul to the second place finish for Anshul Manoj Shah in round 2 Race 1 of the Volkswagen POLO R CU P Championship INDIA.
Round 2 (Race 2)
With rain hitting the tracks for half an hour before the race, Anshul Shah had to proceed on tracks with wet tyres. Though the rain stopped but the rain covered the track with water which made the race tough for all the racers. Commenting on the track Anshul said that it made him difficult to understand how the tyres will react to the track and it also made me difficult to set my driving skills and my mindset on the wet track. Due to the reverse grid Anshul started from the 7th position in the grid. However, he climbed up lap by lap and gave a tough competition to the participants in the race. It was a neck to neck competition when he finished the race in 4th position which made him climb in overall driver standing at the 3rd position in 2014 Volkswagen Polo R Cup Championship India.
He claimed that he would like to dedicate his win to all his sponsors and Nagpur Today.
