The release of Santosh Ambekar from Nagpur Central Jail has hit a roadblock as a court of First Class Magistrate had issued a production warrant in another case. Accordingly, Ambekar was produced in the court which sent him to Police Custody Remand (PCR) till July 4.

According to reports, recently the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court had granted bail to Santosh Ambekar who was in jail in a land dispute. Accordingly, the court of Chief Magistrate A C Raut completed the bail formalities and prepared the release order to be presented to Jail Superintendent. However, the Investigating Officer in the case Police Inspector S N Murkute approached the court of First Class Magistrate Parvani for issuing of Production Warrant in another case. Armed with the Production Warrant, the Police Inspector Murkute took Ambekar into custody from jail itself and produced him before the court of First Class Magistrate. The court sent Ambekar to Police Custody Remand till July 4 and thus foiled his release from jail.
