Nagpur: In a remarkable display of dedication and compassion, Head Constable Sudhir Khubalkar of Shantinagar Police Station in Nagpur has become a beacon of hope for numerous families by tracing 64 missing persons in just 11 months. His extraordinary achievements recently earned him accolades from Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravinder Singal, shedding light on his exceptional service to the community.

Khubalkar’s tireless efforts have taken him across the length and breadth of the country in pursuit of missing individuals, most of whom were women. Utilizing his own resources and travelling in general class train compartments, often enduring discomfort, Khubalkar’s unwavering commitment to his mission shines through. Driven by a deep sense of empathy, he leaves no stone unturned to reunite missing persons with their families, regardless of the challenges he faces along the way.

Reflecting on his experiences, Khubalkar reveals that this year alone, he successfully located eight missing girls, except one. Ranging in ages from 18 to 80, these individuals were scattered across cities such as Delhi, Agra, Ghaziabad, Prayagraj, and Ujjain. Whether they had eloped, fled due to family disputes, or left home under other circumstances, Khubalkar’s persistence ensured their safe return, even in cases where they had children with them.

Despite the meagre allowances provided by the government, Khubalkar’s determination remains unwavering. Leveraging support from the police cyber cell, he employs various techniques, including analyzing call details and utilizing ground intelligence, to track down missing persons. His vigilance extends beyond duty hours, as he carries a list of missing individuals and their photographs with him at all times.

Khubalkar’s commitment to his duty and humanity knows no bounds. Even during leisure moments, he remains vigilant, as evidenced by his fortuitous encounter with an injured man who turned out to be one of the missing persons on his list. His swift action led to the man’s reunion with his family, exemplifying Khubalkar’s belief that “humanity is my religion.”

With an eagle eye for scanning crowds in various public spaces, Khubalkar’s determination to bring joy to reunited families remains unwavering. His selfless dedication serves as a testament to the noble values upheld by law enforcement officers, inspiring hope and gratitude within the community he serves.
