: The women folk of the city hailing from North India including Punjabis, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthanis, Biharis etc had observed Karva Chauth with religious fervor too.

A group of young wives joined together and formed a group called “Piya Bawari” to observe this auspicious festival Karva Chauth. The organizers of Piya Bawari include Renee Alagh, Karishma Anand, Shivani Kothari, Shilpa Vij, Mehreen Rangoonwala, Bhavna Bhatia and Jia Mohta. They organized the Karva Chauth programme every year for the elite of the city.

The main sponsors of the event were Batukbai Jewelers, Ensaara, Legato and the Travel Partners are Take Me away-Travel Agency.

Since Karva Chauth is considered as one of the most important festivals for all married women in India, most of the elite married women of the city participated in the programme. All the wives offered prayers to God Almighty for the safety and long life of their husbands.

The ladies attired in vibrant shades of red, pink, orange Sarees, Ghagra Choli numbers, Evening Gowns, Designer attires, made all the ladies beautiful and ravishing. The make-up, hairdos and accessories seemed to accentuate their beauty.

God seemed to be very partial and must have created all these beautiful ladies and must have caused them to assemble at Centre Point Hotel to participate in Piya Bawari- Karva Chauth programme.

The ladies who were observing a day-long fasting for whole day starting from the sunrise (early morning) and finally ending after seeing the moon were actively participating in all the activities. A game of Housie was played after a dance performance by a Dance Troupe from Delhi and Neel from Nagpur.

The Anchor Malika Malhotra from Mumbai did an excellent job of keeping the women involved in all the activities.

  20. Mrs Beautiful etc.

The Judges included Former contestant of Mrs World Shilpa Agrawal. (She had won the title Mrs Inspirational), Mrs Tripti Kamdar and Mrs Mohta. The winning ladies were given Sashes and prizes.

On the whole, it was enjoyed by every lady to their heart’s content.
