Nagpur: An alert trader foiled an attempt to rob him by two motorcycle-borne miscreants in Jaripatka area on Wednesday night. However, the two robbers managed to escape.
The Kasturba Nagar resident Indar Bhagvandas Virvani (31) closed his shop around 8.30 pm on Wednesday and left for home on his Activa moped (MH-31/AV 2815). Midway, as Indar was nearing Satyam Shivam Apartment in Kukreja Nagar, two masked motorcycle-borne goons (20-25 years) came from behind and threw chili powder in his eyes. At the same time, the two robbers tried to snatch a black-coloured bag containing cash from Indar but he started shouting for help loudly. Indar’s shrill cries panicked the two robbers and they fled the spot sans the bag.
Jaripatka PSI Dongre has booked the two robbers under Sections 394, 34 of the IPC and searching for them.
