Alert citizen foils ATM loot in Sonegaon

Nagpur: An alert citizen foiled an attempt to loot ATM of Bank of India situated at Sonegaon area in the wee hours of Monday.

The alert citizen is Purshottam Gopichand Kamble (46), resident of Plot No. 27, Gulmohar Park, Panzri, coming under Sonegaon police jurisdiction. It so happened that Purshottam, around 0340 hours of Monday, heard noise of breaking the nearby ATM of Bank of India. Alarmed over the noise, Purshottam woke up from his sleep and along with other residents rushed to the ATM. Upon reaching the spot, they noticed three unidentified desperadoes trying to steal cash from the ATM. As the three miscreants saw Purshottam and other residents, they fled the spot but not before snapping wirings in the ATM panel and damaging the CCTV camera in order to hid their identity. Purshottam immediately lodged a complaint with police in this connection.

Sonegaon PSI C P Rathod has booked the three unidentified miscreants under Sections 379, 427 of the IPC and searching for them.

In another incident, a 23-year old man was arrested while attempting burglary at a house in Nandanvan area on Sunday night.

Burglar arrested red-handed:
A resident of Ankuji Nagar, Bhandewadi, near Bouddha Vihar, Dharmapal Kartik Patil (32), locked his house on Monday night and went to Daga Hospital for admitting his wife. After admitting wife, Dharmapal returned home around 10.15 pm. He noticed light in the backyard of his house. Sensing something wrong, Dharmapal rushed to the backyard and found the accused Abhay Bhaurao Dhargave (23), resident of Ankuji Nagar, Bhandewadi, near Bouddha Vihar, entering his house slyly with the intention of committing burglary. The accused was immediately overpowered by Dharmapal and a complaint was lodged with Nandanvan police.

PSI N P Mohod registered a case against the accused Abhay Dhargave under Sections 457, 380, 511 of the IPC and arrested him.
