Aged woman robbed of gold ornaments worth Rs 1.55 lakh in train


An elderly woman, travelling in a train from Pune to Nagpur, was robbed of gold ornaments worth Rs 1.55 lakh. The theft came to notice of the woman when she reached home and checked her baggage. Cops have booked the unidentified burglar(s) and searching the accused.

The victim, Nanda Vijay Padegaonkar (63) of Datta Apartment, Aath Rasta Chowk, Laxminagar, reached Nagpur around 10 am on 25.4.2016 by a Pune-Nagpur train. After reaching home, when Nanda was checking her baggage, she found her gold ornaments worth Rs 1.55 lakh missing. The unidentified burglar(s), most probably, pilfered the gold ornaments during Nanda’s journey by the train.

Pratap Nagar Woman PSI R D Napte has registered an offence against the unidentified burglar(s) under Section 379 of IPC and probing the matter further.
