Aged man, youth killed in road mishaps at GMCH and Hingna

Nagpur: An aged man and a youth were killed in separate road accidents in city on Thursday. A truck driver has been arrested while an unidentified vehicle driver is being searched by cops.

In the first accident, a 70-year old man Madhav waman Kale, resident of Plot No. 51, Sahakar Nagar, Khamla, was knocked dead bya recklessly driven truck near Medical College. Around 5 pm on Thursday, Madhav was going towards Medical Square on his two-wheeler (MH-31/EZ 567). As he reached near Rajabaksha Hanuman Temple, a rashly driven truck (MH-31/CB 1915) dashed against his two-wheeler from behind with forceful impact.

As a result, Madhav fell on road and received fatal injuries. He died on the spot even before medical help could be extended to him at nearby GMCH. Following the accident, people caught the truck driver Sikalsingh Gulabsingh Karveti (36), native of village Pindrai Khurd, District Balaghat, MP and handed him over to police.

Imambada API Sayyed, based on a complaint lodged by Arun Manohar Khandekar (69) of Kharetown, Dharampeth, booked the truck driver under Section 304(A) of the IPC and placed him under arrest. Further probe is underway.

In another incident, a resident of Mohgaon Zilpi, Hingna, Praful Raju Nitnavre (25), along with his friend, was going towards Mauza Mohgaon Shivar on Honda Shine bike (MH-40/AP 3829) around 4.30 pm on Thursday. When Praful and his friend reached near Mohgaon Shivar, an unidentified vehicle, driven recklessly, hit their bike head on. Praful suffered critical injuries and died on the spot while his friend escaped with minor injuries.

Hingna ASI Ghuge registered a case under Sections 279, 337, 304(A) of the IPC read with Sections 134, 177, 184 of Motor Vehicles Act against the unidentified driver and searching for him.
