After Shantinagar cruelty in Kalamna: 7 dogs, 1 pig poisoned

Nagpur: Cruelty towards speechless animals seems to be increasing in Nagpur day by day. Though the Shantinagar incident of battering of four dogs with rods and out of them 3 dying and one being critical is yet to fade from the mind and now there has been another incident were 7 dogs and 1 pig have been poisoned.

This incident is said to have taken place in MHADA colony of Kalamna. Out of the seven dogs who were poisoned 4 four dogs and 1 pig died while a puppy was saved by the Save Speechless Organisation and sent to the hospital. The members of Save Speechless Organisation and the Animal lovers organisations reached the spot and informed the NMC and the police.

According to Founder of Save Speechless Organisation Smita Mire she was informed about the incident by one animal lover Manpreet Kaur over the phone in the morning at 7 pm. When she reached there, the 4 dogs and a pig were lying dead there.

A complaint was registered in the Kalamna police station. Smita has demanded invesgation into the incident and strict action against the accused.

PI Khushal Tijare of Kalammna police station informed that a case under Cruelty to animal has been registered against the unidentified accused. The carcass of the 4 dogs and pig has been sent for autopsy. Investigations are going on in the area.
