Nagpur: Adani Defence and Aerospace, in partnership with Prime Aero, has signed a binding agreement to acquire a 100% stake in Indamer Technics Private Limited (ITPL), one of India’s leading private-sector Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) companies.
The acquisition is through Horizon Aero Solutions Limited, a 50-50 joint venture between Adani Defence and Aerospace and Prime Aero, owned by aviation entrepreneur Prajay Patel. This strategic move combines Adani’s large-scale infrastructure capabilities with Indamer’s deep engineering expertise, making the group India’s largest private MRO network.
Nagpur Facility – A World-Class Aviation Hub
Located in the MIHAN Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Nagpur, ITPL’s facility spans 30 acres and 120,000 square meters, offering 15 aircraft bays across 10 hangars. Built to global standards, it is approved by the DGCA, FAA (USA), and other international aviation regulators. The company provides a full range of MRO services, including lease return checks, heavy C-checks, structural repairs, and aircraft painting for Indian and global carriers.
Strategic Growth for Indian Aviation
Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airports, highlighted the industry’s expansion:
“With Indian carriers set to induct over 1,500 aircraft, this acquisition marks a key step in establishing India as a premier global MRO destination. Our goal is to create an integrated aviation services ecosystem driven by quality and customer satisfaction.”
Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence and Aerospace, noted the synergies with Air Works, another MRO under the group:
“Nagpur’s central location enhances our pan-India reach and provides significant capacity for growth. Together with Air Works, we will deliver integrated solutions for commercial and defence aviation.”
Prajay Patel, Director of Indamer Technics and Prime Aero, added:
“This collaboration blends engineering excellence with robust infrastructure, aiming to make Nagpur a global MRO hub.”
With this acquisition, Nagpur solidifies its position as a critical centre in India’s aviation maintenance network, supporting the nation’s growing aviation ambitions.
