Nagpur: The Disciplinary Panel of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has suspended Narendra Jichkar over his acts of indiscipline and misbehavior. A letter has been issued to Jichkar by Prithviraj Chavan, Chairman of the Disciplinary Panel.
The MPCC Disciplinary Panel had sought an explanation from Jichkar for his alleged acts of indiscipline and misbehavior. However, after finding no concrete evidence from his side, the chairman and former CM Prithviraj Chavan-led panel, decided to expel Jichkar from MPCC for six years.
It is pertinent to mention that Jichkar’s supporters clashed with backers of Congress city president Vikas Thakre on October 12, 2023, over not being allowed to speak during a divisional level meeting organized by MPCC. The clashes took place in front of MPCC president Nana Patole, Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar, and other leaders. Later, both leaders, said to be old rivals, lodged complaints with the MPCC against each other.
