ACB traps Adivasi Boys Hostel Warden for bribe of Rs 50,000

Accused UikeyNagpur: In a major action, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Nagpur, nabbed a Warden of Adivasi Boys Hostel while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 50,000 from a woman who is running a mess in the hostel.
According to the complaint, the woman who is running the mess in the Hostel was not being paid bill four bills for the months of September and October this year. The accused Kailash Arun Uikey (38), Warden of Adivasi Boys Hostel, Kalamna, cleared three bills out of four and later demanded bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant woman for the favour and also for clearing her fourth bill. Taken aback by the huge bribe demand, the woman approached ACB, Nagpur and lodged a complaint against the Warden Kailash Uikey.

The ACB sleuths, after receiving the complaint, laid a trap at the Hostel. During the trap, the ACB sleuths found the accused Warden of Adivasi Boys Hostel Kailash Uikey demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant woman. As soon as the accused Uike pocketed the bribe amount, the ACB sleuths caught him red-handed and recovered the marked currency from his possession. The arrested Warden was later booked under Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.

The action was initiated by PI Yuvraj Patki, constables Dilip Jadhav, Shankar Kamble, Woman Police Constable Komal Gujar under the directives of SP Rajeev Jain.
