ACB nabs Naib Tehsildar taking bribe to implement court’s order

Nagpur News : Officials from Wardha Anti-Corruption Bureau caught a Naib Tehsildar of Koparna in Chandrapur district, Samir Premvir Mane taking bribe of Rs 15000 from an advocate who wanted to get the court order regarding his aunt’s land implemented.
The officials received a complaint from advocate Avin Rambhau Donkar, 30, a resident of police station Seras, teh. Koparna, district Chandrapur that his aunt is having agricultural land, mauja Seras, teh Koparna survey no. 106 admeasuring 447 ha and there is demand of illegal gratification for giving effect to a court order.

The said land was under litigation. There was a court order from Rajura court that the said land be handed over to the aunt of Donkar. After the said court order, Donkar went to Koparna Naib Tehsildar, Samir Premvir Mane, 32, for making entries accordingly in the land records and for getting possession of the land. The official demanded a bribe of Rs 15,000/ for carrying out requisite government work. As the complainant was not willing to pay bribe, a complaint was lodged with ACB.

After due verification anti corruption bureau laid a trap on April 28 in the tehsil office of Koparna. The Naib Tehsildar again demanded bribe and as a first instalment of the total amount accepted bribe of Rs 5000/ in presence of witnesses. The official was arrested red handed. The offence is registered against the naib tehsildar at police station Koparna district Chandrapur under Prevention of Corruption Act, the ACB officials are also carrying out search at his residence at Jat, in Sangli district.

The said action was carried out under the guidance of Vasant Shirbhate, assistant police commissioner/ police superintendent, anti corruption bureau, Nagpur and Sanjay Purandare, additional police superintendent by Dinkar Thosre , deputy superintendent of police and Anil Lokhande , anti corruption bureau , Wardha.
