The meetings of Academic Council and Management Council will soon be convened to fix the date for holding the 100th Convocation Ceremony of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU). The main agenda of both the meetings will be Convocation Ceremony. “Organization of the 100th Convocation is the responsibility of all the members of Academic and Management Councils” said Vice Chancellor Dr. Vilas Sapkal.
In the past few weeks, all the meetings of Academic and Management Councils focus only on a single issue of banned colleges. The members are alleging that the VC is not listening to them and not taking decisions on the issue of banned colleges. The infuriated members on February 5 had collectively skipped the Academic Council meeting on the same issue.

The members also alleged that the Vice Chancellor is not serious about holding Convocation Ceremony as soon as possible. Dr.Sapkal, making his point said, “Discussion on Convocation Ceremony was certainly to be held in the earlier meetings. We had made it a table item to be discussed. Now, Convocation Ceremony will be main agenda to be discussed in the Management Council meeting to be held on February 15 and Academic Council meeting as well.
Management Council meeting crucial:
Many issues of the previously held Management Council meetings have not been finalized as yet. University Budget, Annual Vision, Finanacial Vision and many other important issues are still pending. Now, it is important that the Management Council meeting continues without any hindrance.
There is also suspense over the Senate meeting expected to be held in March. Whether it will be held or not, is the question mark. A notification of the same has to be issued 45 days prior to the meeting. Governor’s assent is a also required for the Senate meeting.
