The Academic Council of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University met on May 13, 2014 at the varsity premises. The Acting Vice Chancellor who is chairman of the Academic Council said that since the matter is not disposed off and is subjudice, i.e. the matter is pending in the High Court, and the issue of 250 banned Colleges cannot be resolved in this meeting.

The Acting Vice Chancellor Anoop Kumar said that the varsity will ask for some clarifications from the legal counsel on the issue.

A committee has been constituted to decide on the approved required teachers in the colleges. Kirti Deshmukh will head the Committee for professional courses and Pro-VC Vinayak Deshpande will head the committee for Non-Professional courses. They are said to decide on the strength of the approved and required number of teachers of professional and non-professional colleges.

Basic Chemistry” has been re-introduced in B.Sc Home Science

The subject “Basic Chemistry” has been re-introduced in Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) Home Science. It could be mentioned here that a few years ago, this subject was removed from the course for reasons best known to them. After deliberations from the Chemistry teachers, the course has been re-introduced.

VC nominates Dr Munshilal Gautam

The Academic Council during the meeting also approved the Academic Calendar 2014-15. The Acting Vice-Chancellor Anoop Kumar has nominated Dr Munshilal Gautam to become Chancellor Nominated Member in Senate replacing Tarak Kate.
