Absconding murder convict nabbed by Dhantoli cops

Nagpur: Dhantoli police succeeded in nabbing a murder convict who had jumped furlough and had gone absconding since September 21, 2018.

The accused Sanjay alias Bandya Madhukar Waghade (45), native of Chalna Dhalna, Tehsil Lakhni, district Bhandara, was convicted under Sections 302, 307, 34 of the IPC and sentenced to go life term. He was lodged in Nagpur Central Prison. Sanjay had applied for furlough (brief leave) and was granted the same from August 23 to September 20, 2018. He was supposed to present himself to jail authorities on September 21. However, Sanjay jumped the furlough and went absconding.

Cops received information that the absconding convict Sanjay Waghade was spotted roaming in Dhantoli area. Acting on the tip off, a team of Dhantoli police scanned the area and zeroed in on the elusive convict.

Apart from his conviction under Sections 302, 307, 34 of the IPC, Sanjay Waghade was involved in various other crimes in the jurisdictions of Ajni, Dhantoli, Imambada and Sitabuldi police.

The absconding convict was rounded up by API Sanjay Pardeshi, NPCs Virendra Gulrandhe, Rajendra Khandate, Vinod Wadaskar, sepoys Hemraj Beral, Pankaj Hedau, Devendra Bonde, woman police sepoys Anita, Ritu under the guidance of DCP Zone 2 Chinmay Pandit, ACP Boravake and Senior PI Prasad Sanas.
