Aapli Bus conductor, 3 others arrested for gang-raping teenage girl in Mankapur

Nagpur: Mankapur police have arrested four men, including a conductor of Aapli Bus, for gang-raping a 16-year old girl at a flat situated near Alexis Hospital over a period of seven months.

The four accused have been identified as Aapli Bus conductor Umesh alias Varshapal Moreshwar Meshram (22), Dharmapal Dadaeao Meshram (22), both residents of Pardi, Tehsil Parshioni, district Nagpur but currently staying D/14, Ranjana Society, Panjra Koradi, Ashish Kashinath Lokhande (25), resident of Flat No. SF 28, Puja Residency Building, near Alexis Hospital, Mankapur, and another accused named Ajay (22).

It could not be ascertained whether all the accused worked as conductors in Aapli Bus.

According to police, the four accused befriended the 16-year old girl sometime back. With devilish designs in their mind, the accused, on some pretext, took the teenage girl to a flat scheme near Alexis Hospital and raped her turn by turn. Thereafter, the accused gang-raped the minor girl frequently between July 1, 2018 and January 31, 2019.

Mankapur ASI Vijay Naik, based on the complaint of victimised girl and a report submitted by Yashodhara Nagar police, booked the four accused Umesh Meshram, Dharmapal Meshram, Ashish Lokhande and Ajay under Sections 376(2)(N)(I)(D), 377 of the IPC read with Section 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested them. Further probe is underway.
