Nagpur News. The war of words between Nitin Gadkari and Anjali Damania, Lok Sabha candidates from Nagpur for BJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) respectively, further escalated to serious level when Gadkari challenged Damania to prove single case of corruption against him and he would resign from the politics. Taking the challenge head on, Damania on Saturday submitted the documents pertaining to massive irregularities and corruption regarding Purti Group, once chaired by Gadkari.

Damania sent the documentary evidence at Gadkari’s residence on Saturday morning and later called the press conference at AAP office in Dhantoli at 4 pm.

Confirming this development, AAP Nagpur Secretary Rajesh Pugalia informed that as Gadkari had on Friday publicly announced that he would quit politics and tender withdrawal from poll fray if any single case of corruption could be proved against him, Damania readily produced the detail of the case with concrete evidence that exposes Gadkari’s corruption when he chaired Purti Group. The case proved how Gadkari formulated corrupt means to cheat the innocent farmers on their hard earned money. AAP has also demanded reply from Gadkari by 4 pm on Saturday, when Damania would bring the documents to the media people.

In the document sent to Gadkari, a copy of which is with Nagpur Today, AAP has asked Gadkari to clarify on the case of farmer named Shyam Rao hailing from village Padegaon. Detailing on the case, the document stated, “Shyamrao took a loan of Rs 16500/- from “Shikshak Sahakari Bank” in a loan a/c no 7471 in March 01. This loan was payable in 15 months i.e by May 2002. The farmer grew the crop and sold the produce to Purti Sakhar Karkhana in two parts and paid off the entire loan. Along with the loan the farmer was also charged Rs 2000 towards shares of Purti Sakhar Karkhana and was also made to keep a Bank deposit of Rs 687 with the Shikshak Sahakari Bank. After all the toiling and hard work, the farmer got a meager Rs 2828 after producing 34,353 kg of sugarcane,”

It added, “Shyamrao had actually paid off his loan well before the deadline which was May 2002. On June 10, 2004 he gets a notice from Shikshak Sahakari Bank saying that the loan of Rs 16,500/- taken by him in Loan a/c no 7471 was not paid. The bank went to the extent of threatening Shyamrao of initiating proceedings against him. Shocked and frightened with the letter, Shyamrao rushed to Purti to ask for help and clarification. He was verbally assured that there was no issue and it was a genuine mistake. After 4 years, in 2008, Shyamrao realizes that he has been cheated. The entire loan amount of the farmers was claimed by Shikshak Sahakari Bank Limited under the “Sheti Karja Savlat & Sheti Karja Mafi Yojana of 2008” and the entire loan amount was waived off. AAP has also attached few references of payment made by Shyamrao and also some documents relating to the loan waiver. Sources said that people have now rested their eyes on Gadkari and it would be interesting to see how he would come clear on the allegation.
