Nagpur: A concrete pillar has been erected under a bridge near Mankapur flyover. It is blocking the smooth flow of water through the narrow bridge. This being the reason, the rain-water could not flow away during recent rainfall, and it gave rise to rain-water to the level of 6-8 feet above the ground, submerging several nearby houses constructed in low belt area. As a result, the citizens had to suffer in a large scale.

In this regard, the Nagpur Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule was compelled to pull up the NHAI (National Highway Authority of India) for such a major lapse in constructing the bridge. On Friday, a delegation of NHAI and Central Railway officials met NMC commissioner Shravan Hardikar and the need to remove the said pillar from the middle of Pili Nadi was discussed, as the pillar is obstructing the flow of water.

Also discussed in the meeting was the issue relating Tajnagar RoB. According to sources, the NMC would issue orders for removal of obstruction. It may also be mentioned that the traffic problem always crops up at T-point Zingabai Takli Faras on Pili Nadi and the space where traffic of RoB lands.
