Fraudsters sell plot which does not exist; dupes Amravati man of Rs 25.09 lakh

A corn vendor was hacked to death on Friday evening by two men alleging he owned money to them. The murder occurred in Gittikhadan police station areas at around 4.45 pm on Friday and the accused have been arrested.

The deceased has been identified Mahendra Matacharan Shahu, aged 45 and a resident of Galli No. 3, Taj Nagar, Mankapur. Reports suggest that Mahendra was present at his corn cart at Sharma layout, Mata Nagar, Zingabai Takli, o Friday afternoon. The reports reveal that two men Vijendra Singh alias Guddu Bohriksingh Chandel (26) and Sandeep Rajkumar Samudre (25), both residents of Zingabai Takli, confronted Mahendra demanding some money that he owned to them. When Mahendra failed to produce money, the two men started abusive him and attacked him with a knife-like weapon. Mahendra sustained skin deep injuries and he reportedly died before reaching the hospital.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by Mahendra’s wife Malti Shahu (40), Gittikhadan police have charged the two men under Sections 302 and 34 of the IPC and arrested them.
