Thieves barge into eatery, thrash owner and loot Rs 30,000; two arrested

An eatery was burgled of Rs 20,000 and the owner was robbed of cash Rs 10,000 in Pachpaoli area on Friday night. The owner was later thrashed by the thieves with a rod. Two of the five accused have been arrested while others are still absconding.

As per reports, Mulchand Govindrao Vinkar (54), a resident of Lalganj, Khairipura was present at his eatery Mulchand Saoji Bhojnalay, situated at Khairipura, Lalganj. Five men including Kailash alias Kattu Daulatrao Kamble (32), Ravindra alias Mulla Bhavanisingh Gour (38), Sharad Sarode and two other unknown persons, barged into the eatery between 10.30 pm and 10.45 pm, and threatened Mulchand to hand over the money kept in the locker.

The reports suggest that Mulchand protested but was left helpless in front of the armed thieves. They looted Rs 20,000 from locker and Rs 10,000 cash from Mulchand’s pocket. Before leaving the eatery, the thieves thrashed Mulchand with a rod and injured him seriously.
Mulchand lodged a complaint with pachpaoli police after which the cops swung into action and arrested Kailash, a resident of Prem Nagar, near Hanuman Mandir and Ravindra, a resident of Kundanlal Gupta Nagar, Punjabi Line. Cops have launched manhunt for the absconding thieves.
