Nagpur News : A notorious thief who had decamped with booty worth lakhs from houses in the city was nabbed by the Sitabuldi police in a dramatic manner on Sunday. The accused Amol Mirjapure (26) of Yavatmal was caught with about 370 grams of gold and 2,72 lakh in his possession.
According to police sources Amol was standing near Children’s Traffic Park at about 6 pm on Saturday. On seeing a police vehicle Amol started to run all of a sudden. On seeing Amol run, a few personnel from the patrolling party ran after him and managed to catch hold of him. It was during interrogation that Amol confessed to have broken into more than 20 houses in the city in Dhantoli, Pratap Nagar, Sitabuldi, Ajni and Sonegaon.
He told the police that he would search for closed houses in the city in a car and would have tools with him at all times.

The Sitabuldi police informed media persons of the arrest during a press conference held on Sunday. The accused told the police that he had been carrying out heists in the city for her mother’s eye surgery. According to Amol his mother had undergone as many 5 surgeries in the past few months but still was loosing her eye sight gradually.
