Man relieved of briefcase carrying cash and gold ornaments from Wockhardt Hospital

Nagpur News : An elderly man was looted off his briefcase carrying cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 77,500 from Wockhardt Hospital on Sunday. The case has been lodged at Ambazari police station.

According to information, Prabhakar Balkrishna Gawande (73), a resident of Biyani Road, University Road campus, had admitted his wife at Wockhardt Hospital following her illness. On Sunday, he put the briefcase which had Rs 5000 and gold ornaments on the slab of the security booth. However, some unknown thieves tactfully stole the briefcase and sped away. When Prabhakar returned to the booth, he was shocked to discover the missing briefcase. He contacted Ambazari police station and informed that the briefcase carried cash and gold ornaments collectively worth Rs 77,500.

Ambazari police have registered an offence under Sections 379 and started their investigations.
