Woman robbed of gold booty worth Rs 3.50 lakh on her son’s marriage day

Nagpur: A woman was robbed of gold ornaments worth Rs 3.50 lakh on the day of her son’s marriage in Lamba Celebration Hall, Yashodhara Nagar jurisdiction on March 12, 2018. For reasons better known to the woman, the complaint about theft was registered 10 days after the crime.

A resident of Plot No. 45 C, Netaji Nagar, Pardi Road, Vijaylaxmi Vinod Katakwar (54), told police in her delayed complaint that marriage of her son was being solemnised at Lamba Celebration Hall, Kamptee Road, Yashodhara Nagar, on March 12, 2018. For safety point of view, she kept the gold ornaments worth Rs 3.50 lakh in a handbag. Between 11 am and 7 pm, the gold booty was stolen from the handbag kept in changing room. Some unidentified person(s) pilfered the gold jewellery slyly.

Yashodhara Nagar police constable Sanjay, acting on the complaint, booked the unidentified burglar(s) under Section 380 of the IPC and launched search to apprehend the accused.
