Five held in murder near Lahori bar in Dharampeth

Nagpur News : Five youths including two minors were rounded-up by Sitabuldi police in the horrific murder of Sumit Gadge, 26, who was stabbed to death near Lahori Bar on WHC road in Dharampeth on Monday around 2.30 am.

Naik road residents- Shabbir Khan, 20, and Abhijit Shedke, 21-year-old old Pravin Ghate from Mahal and two minors were held for Gadge’s murder over an old rivalry on financial dispute.

Gadge, son of PWD employee, was a resident of Ravi Nagar. He along with his friend Ravi Umathe had gone to have drinks at the bar. Khan, Shedke, Ghate and two others were also present in the same bar. Under the influence of alcohol, the youths started commenting on each other which resulted into a heated argument among the boys.

The argument turned into a drunken brawl and end with Gadge’s death due to stabbing near a jewelers shop on WHC road.

Police said that Gagde and Shedke, both property agents, had together found a tenant for a house. The duo would many times have dispute over commission of the rent charges.

On Monday too, both picked up an argument over the same issue that led to Gagde’s murder.
