Nagpur News : A 34-year-old woman was set ablaze by her husband after she refused to give him money for alcohol. Sandeep Raut, 44, a resident of Manewada, was booked twelve days after the incident took place on February 11 at the couple’s residence.
Ajni police, who are investigating the case, informed that Raut’s wife, Meena was rushed by her parents to a government hospital at Wardha, where they stay. Police said the hospital authorities informed them three days late and Meena was declared unfit by the doctors to give statement.
On Saturday morning, Meena gave her statement to the police alleging Raut had set her on fire. She told police that Raut would spend money in alcohol and thus she had refused to give him. Police informed that Raut, too had suffered burns on his hands while he had gone to save Meena.
