Nagpur: A middle-aged woman, fed up with mental and physical torture by husband, ended her life by setting her ablaze at her residence in Hudkeshwar area on June 14. The accused husband was booked on June 19 after detailed investigation.
The complainant, Nitin Domadhar Wakodikar (35), resident of Plot No. 182, New Amarnagar, told police that his mother Asha Damodhar Wakodikar (55) around 11.30 pm on June 14 poured kerosene on her person and set her afire. She died on the spot. Nitin further told cops that his father Damodhar Wakodikar (64) was torturing Asha mentally and physically over some domestic issues. Fed up with the harassment, she ended her life by immolating self.
Hudkeshwar API P K Avate, based on Nitin’s complaint and investigations, booked the accused Damodhar Wakodikar under Sections 306, 498(A) of the IPC.
