Health Minister installs executive body of Vidarbha Hospitals Association

Nagpur: All major hospitals of Nagpur joined hands to form Vidarbha Hospitals Association which intends to safeguard hospitals and its employees apart from sensitizing public about the problems faced by them to run this service sector. VHA also aims to share/ evolve good management practices amongst all hospitals / nursing homes and ensure indigenous cost effective uniform quality health care services to needy central Indians and enhance the name of Nagpur as a health care hub. VHA office bearers were installed by hands of Dr Deepak Sawant, Minister of Health & Family Welfare- Government of Maharashtra in presence of Shri Praveen Datke, Mayor-Nagpur and Dr. Girish Maindarkar, President-College of Physicians & Surgeons of Mumbai .VHA office bearers who were inducted are Dr. Uday Mahorkar as President, Dr.Anup Marar as Secretary and Dr.Sameer Paltewar as Treasurer with Dr.Ashok Arbat and Dr.Prashant Rahate as Vice Presidents. Dr. Deepak Deshmukh & Smt. Sujatha are Joint Secretaries while Dr. Jitendra Hazare and Ravi Mannadiyar are Joint Treasurers. Dr.Deepak Jeswani, Dr.Pinak Dande, Dr.Avinash Pophali, Dr. Shantanu Sengupta, Dr.Rajan Barokar, Dr.Sadashiv Bhole, Dr. Rajendra Agarwal and Dr.Pramod Mundhada are Executive members of VHA. Dr.N.P.Tolani, Dr.Ashutosh Apte, Dr.Suhas Salpekar, Dr.Niranjan Dharaskar, Dr.B.K.Murali, Dr.Prakash Khetan, Dr.Anil Shrikhande, Dr. Shrikant Mukewar, Dr.Mukund Thakur and Dr.Anand Dongre are were also installed as Coordinators of various VHA cells.

The uniqueness of the event was various medical speciality associations were felicitated on behalf of city by hands of Health Minister under aegis of VHA. It was rare moment wherein all medical speciality associations joined hands under one roof. Citations for 48 health care Organizations and associations were awarded during the ceremony.

In his acceptance speech Dr.Uday Mahorkar, Founder President-VHA conveyed the need to sensitise public about the sincere efforts of private health care service providers who not only are responsible for 80% of Health care service delivery system but also ensure that 15-20% of their gross turnover goes in charity though various means unlike any other industry. He stated that public expects doctors to render free service in camps etc. Similar each industry should also contribute their might like mills should give portion of their production free of costs to needy which is the essence of CSR announced by Hon’ble Prime Minster Narendra Modiji.

Dr.Anup Marar, Secretary-VHA highlighted the need of having a dedicated association of hospitals who focus on the problems faced by government and private hospitals. He also stated that the indigenous efforts undertaken by VHA that has been replicated all over state and many associations are adopting similar strategy. He even add that Govemment of Maharashtra recognised the efforts of VHA and have included them in District Health coordination committee.

Dr.Sameer Paltewar, Treasurer-VHA mentioned the need of having representation of VHA in all government bodies wherein they can have say in policy making and can submit realistic ideas. He justified the need to fight elections as per democratic right and stated that professionals should now take part in election process and not shy away from taking political responsibility or else they do not have right to blame the system.

Dr.Pinak Dande, Executive members-VHA and VHA nominee in Pragati panel during the forthcoming MMC elections introduced his fellow panel members and also proposed vote of thanks. He implored all MMC registered practioneers to go out and vote on 18th December 2016. He lamented that as in any elections only 1/3rd out of more than 80000 allopathic doctors who are MMC registered voters only vote and then how can the rest 2/3rd blame the system till they also take conscientious decision and vote for candidates?

Dr.Niranjan Agarwal, Dr. Nitin Bhagli, Dr.Pinakpani Dande, Dr.Sharad Ghatge, Dr.Abhay Kadam, Dr.Sudhir Naik, Dr.Nilesh Nikam, Dr.Jignesh Thakkar, Dr.Avinash Yelikar are members of Pragati panel standing for MMC elections. Dr.Neeta Deshpande & Dr.Sameer Jahagirdar conducted the proceedings as masters of Ceremony while Dr. Nikhil Balankhe anchored the felicitation program of speciality organisations. Dr.Nandu Kolwadkar, Dr.Sameer Golawar, Dr.Anirudha Deoke, Dr.Rajesh Atal, Dr.Lokesh Jappa, Dr.Sunil Agarwal, Dr.Lalit Waghmare and Dr.Deepak Deshmukh were conveners of this VHA endeavour which was attended by more than 800 doctors of medical fraternity from all over Vidarbha.
