Missing minor girl traced by Crime Branch in Nagpur

Nagpur: The Nagpur Crime Branch’s Anti-Human Trafficking Prevention Squad traced and rescued a missing minor girl who had reportedly been lured and abducted from the New Kamptee Police Station area.

The 40-year-old complainant had informed police that on November 29, the girl left home saying she was going to work but did not return. After an extensive search, the family suspected that an unknown person had enticed her and taken her away, leading to the registration of a case under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at New Kamptee Police Station.

During parallel investigation, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit received credible information on December 2 that the girl was present in the Shivnagar area of Kamptee. Acting swiftly, the team reached the location, traced the minor, and took her into custody. She was counselled and later handed over to New Kamptee Police for further legal procedure.

The operation was executed under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint Commissioner Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijeet Patil. The action was led by PI Lalita Todase and her team.
